More details on the Williams sexual assault case

Here’s a link to the NPR radio station program about the sexual assault charges against a member of the Williams hockey team. There’s an audio recording and a printed transcript of the program that includes the female victim and both her parents describing what happened and their reactions. Amazing that colleges maintain questionable internal disciplinary proceedings where the victim has so few rights (the victim did not have the right to see the testimony of the 30 witnesses who became involved in the case, most apparently on the side of the hockey player). Perhaps the hockey player would have similar claims of unfairness but he refused to respond to questions so his perspective is unknown. The hockey player is scheduled to return to Williams in the fall. We’ll see whether that happens and whether he ends up back on the team. Interesting to recall that, despite the cloud that was over the team throughout the 2012-13 season (the assault happened in October of 2012 and the disciplinary process went on for several months, with many members of the team apparently being active participants), Williams still managed to make the NESCAC finals where it fell to Bowdoin by a score of 2-1.
