Bowdoin, Trinity and Williams in the news

Here’s a link to a good story in the Portland Press Herald regarding how Bowdoin is coping with the pressures of being the only undefeated team in D3 men’s hockey at 12-0-1 and 7-0-1 in league play (well, it would seem, in terms of recognizing that it should not be the goal and that it was lucky to dodge the UNE bullet in a 4-3 win on Tuesday night that required two third-period Bowdoin goals after trailing UNE for he first two periods). Bowdoin hosts Wesleyan and Trinity this weekend.

Here’s a link to a good piece in the Harford Courant as to how Trinity’s second-year coach Matt Greason has settled in nicely as he prepares for a road trip to his home state of Maine. Trinity is in third place in the NESCAC with a 3-1-2 record (6-3-2 overall), with two games this weekend (Colby on Friday and Bowdoin on Saturday) and a lights-out goalie in Ben Coulthard.

Here’s a link to a good piece by USCHO’s Tim Costello on Williams great start (7-2-1 overall and 6-1-1 in the NESCAC). Williams has a tough OOC schedule coming up (Skidmore (home) and Plattsburgh (away) this weekend and Babson (away) on Tuesday) and a thin roster, with only 20 skaters and 3 goalies and one of its premier players out of action to date (Craig Kitto). The thin roster seems to be  a perennial problem for Williams and may come back to bite this edition of the Ephs as injuries and sickness are a part of the game . . .
