scores:

Bowdoin 3 Hamilton 3 (OT) (Bowdoin manages to salvage a point on the weekend and to hang onto first place due to the failure of other top-tier teams (losses for Amherst and Williams) to take advantage of Bowdoin’s difficult weekend; Hamilton blows a golden opportunity to capture first place on its home ice; Polar Bears wait until the last minute of the third period (19:02) to tie the game on a Fanning EA goal – it is his second of the night and his 17th on the year; Weiniger also scores his 17th goal of the year in the third period to pull Bowdoin within 1 after the Polar Bears fell behind 3-1 earlier in the period after 2  Hamilton quickies; 1-1-2 afternoons for Hamilton’s 2 fine frosh, Anderson and DiMare; Nerland superb in net with 44 saves as Bowdoin gets whistled for 16 penalties and gives Hamilton 9 PP opportunities; Gibbar gets the start for Hamilton and plays well too (32 saves); Hamilton’s no. 1 goalie Hefferman does not dress for either game this weekend, suggesting that he may have been injured in the UNE game)

Norwich 3 Williams 0 (Cadets do all their scoring in the first period and that is all that is required; Norwich totally dominate the Eph, outshooting them by 47-19; Purdy is once again excellent in net for Williams as he is called on to make 44 saves; despite the loss, Williams is still hanging around first place and has the chance to make a move on Tuesday when it plays travel partner Middlebury in Vermont)

Middlebury 5 St. Mike’s 3 (the Panthers struggle to grab those 2 points on the road from the pesky Purple Knights but manage to do so; game is tied at 3-3 after 2 periods as Yanchek has an off-day, giving up 3 goals on 10 SOGs; BonDurant takes over in net at the 35:11 mark and gets the win, saving the meager 3 shots that he faces in almost 25 minutes; Drolet breaks the tie at the 8 second mark of the third period with the game wining goal; Dubuc adds an insurance goals at 12:02 of the third period; Drolet scores 2 goals while Strauss, Dubuc, and frsoh Wiggins all have 1-1-2 games; Tucker Donahoe joins in the scoring with 2 assists; despite the close score, the Panthers totally dominate the Purple Knights, outshooting them by more than 3-1 at 42-13; big home game for the Panthers on Tuesday with Williams and the chance to capture first place (due to the fact that it holds the tiebreaker with Bowdoin))
