This year’s Concannon Award to the best American-born D3 player in New England goes to Castleton State’s Josh Harris, who led D3 in scoring. The five finalists included two NESCAC players, Bowdoin’s Dan Weiniger and Williams goalie Ryan Purdy (the 16 semi-finalists included eight NESCAC players). It’s kind of surprising that Trinity’s stellar goalie, senior Wes Vesprini, was not a finalist as he was the NESCAC first-team goalie and had an outstanding career and senior year. The last NESCAC player to win this award was Amherst’s Jeff Landers in 2009 (who also won the D3 POY that year).
